If you think this site provides a valuable service, consider donating to support server bandwidth and continued development. I am lucky enough that my husband's income covers the bills, which means I can translate your generous donations into hiring help for creating new image sets and recording multi-lingual tracks. 10% of all income from this site will go to support free-information projects including Wikipedia and Project Gutenburg.

Donate Talent

Please contact me if you want to help out. Here are the areas I need help with:

Image Compilation

I could use help compiling image sets from Wikimedia/Flickr or your contributions of original artwork. You could just locate 10 images for a set and send me an email of their URL's. Or, if you want to go further, you could cut out the image from its background and create an xml file with the image attribution details.

This task requires that you have image editing software such as GIMP (free) installed on your computer so that you can "cut out" images, removing their backgrounds. These tutorials on creating and using paths and cutting out renders using paths should help you get started. You may request a set of images from me that just needs to be cut out, or compile your own set on any topic of your choice. Original compilations should include an xml file in the following format:

<card>
<image>image file</image>
<artist>artist's name or handle</artist>
<link>link to page containing the image</link>
</card>

(repeat block for as many card images as contained in submission)

I am not exactly sure how licensing works for derivitive artwork of works in the public domain or released under a Creative Commons Attribution License. Right now I am thinking that I will ask contributors to this project either to upload to Wikimedia and set the license there or to assign all rights to Moone Leaf LLC at which point I will release them to the public domain depending on the terms of the license on the original artwork.

Sound Samples

If you have a microphone, please consider and recording some sound samples, especially if you are a native speaker of another language. All sound samples should be run through a noise filter and amplify. You can either do this yourself using free sound-editing software such as Audacity or just leave some stretches of background noise with your recording and I can filter it after receiving it. As in the images, you may either release your recordings to the public domain by posting them to Wikimedia and setting the licensing terms or assign all rights to Moone Leaf LLC at which point I will release them to the pulic domain via this site.
